    This course explores and develops skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze and use information in the digital age.

  • English Composition II • UCF, 2009-Present

    Driven by a rhetorical pedagogy, geared toward honing students’ research skills, students engage in a semester-long inquiry based research project.

  • English Composition I • UCF, SSC 2008-Present; City College 2014-Present

    Incorporating both writing process and rhetorical pedagogies, students engage in writing which encourages self-awareness and understanding of writing within various discourse communities.

  • Introduction to Literature • SSC, 2010-2012

    In a course driven by psychological and mythological criticism, students learn how to critically engage in literature from various genres and partake in literary analyses.

  • College Prep Writing • SSC, 2008-2011

    This sequence of two courses encourages students to develop grammar, syntax, diction, and essay skills to prepare for more vigorous academic coursework.

  • English Composition I • Everest University Online, 2011-Present

    This online writing course hones narrative and analytical writing skills with a focus on practical workplace writing.

Tutoring & Consulting Experience

  • Writing Consultant • UCF University Writing Center, Fall 2006 – Summer 2008
    • Consulted writers from all backgrounds, levels and majors, from freshmen to PhD candidates
    • Participated in weekly workshops related to consulting
    • Delivered speeches to classes regarding writing center practices and resources
    • Consulted writers via phone, online and face-to-face
    • Developed mentoring strategies for the UWC
    • Led an academic writing workshop for about 200 freshmen at Libra Community
    • Consulted PhD candidates on dissertations receiving substantial grants from UCF
    • Consulted Dr. C. Keith Harrison on several Sport Sociology publications utilizing Critical Race Theory
